ITA Alumni Event-Day Trip to Cartago

Hey Alumni!

We are planning another ITA Alumni Event!  We will be taking a day trip to Cartago

When:  Sunday, June 2nd

Leaving:  From the school in Barva at 6:45am (With pickups in Heredia (7am in Central Park)and San Jose (7:30am by the National Theater), if requested!!!)

How much:  $55 (34,000 colones)

The trip includes:

  • A stop at Restaurante Mirador (With a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or agua dulce)
  • Irazu Volcano
  • Sanatorio Durán ("haunted" hospital)
  • Catholic Basilica
  • Orosi Valley:  visit the church built in 1767
  • All-you-can-eat buffet Lunch
  • Ujarras Ruins
  • Cachi Dam
  • Mirador de Ujarras
  • Cartago Ruins (downtown)
  • Transporation to and from Barva

Please let Luke (luke@costaricatesol.com) know as soon as possible if you are interested in going, as space is limited to 20 people on the bus. It will be a great time seeing some iconic sights of Costa Rica and meeting some new people!


Pay your $55 (34,000 colones) at the school in Barva and ask Karen to put your name on the list! If you can't make it to Barva, please send it with someone else or make your deposit or transfer to the following bank account:

If you aren't familiar with making online transfers, you can walk into any Banco Nacional and ask to make a deposit to our account. Please do not forget to put your name and "Cartago Trip" on the detail line of the transfer or deposit ("detalle"). 


WE MUST HAVE YOUR MONEY BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 29th TO SECURE YOUR SPOT!

On the day of the tour, please dress in layers as we may encounter lots of different weather, and bring an umbrella or rain jacket.  We won't be eating a real breakfast at any point, so please eat before or bring a snack for the morning.
